The 10-digit US customs code for what you make

Say what it is and what it's made of. It's free, there's no login, and the answer comes from the model live.

Check a whole list

Paste up to 25 products, one per line, or copy two columns straight from your spreadsheet: your product reference, then the description. You get every code back, with the ones a person should look at marked.

Tested on rulings it has never seen

Every code below is marked against a binding ruling that US Customs issued between June and August 2026, after the training data was collected.

Why I built it

I've sold wooden curtain poles on Etsy since 2020. Since US de minimis ended, every parcel to the US needs a 10-digit tariff code, and from 9 July Etsy wants sellers outside the US to ship with duties paid. "Handmade gift" doesn't cut it any more.

A general model guesses codes that look right and often don't exist. A small open model, trained on the rulings US Customs publishes, does the boring part properly and costs a fraction of a penny per parcel.

How it works

  1. You describe the item, the way you would in a listing.
  2. Plain code finds the most similar past rulings among about 86,000 that US Customs has published, plus the matching lines of the tariff schedule.
  3. A Qwen3-8B fine-tuned on Tinker reads them and answers with a code, or asks for the one fact it's missing.
  4. Plain code checks the answer against the current US tariff schedule and reads the duty from it. A code that doesn't exist is shown as not real.
